RAWALPINDI: The armed policemen stand alert to give cover to the Eid congregations which will be held in various places on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha as Rawalpindi police have finalized a comprehensive security plan for Eid-ul-Azha aimed at averting any untoward incident.
On the special instructions of RPO and CPO, City Police have formulated a comprehensive security plan. As per detail, four Superintendent of Police (SP) 10 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), 31 Inspectors, 428 sub-inspectors would patrol various sectors to control crimes.
As many as 2432 constables will also be deployed to provide security cover to the citizens on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The security personnel will be deployed on eid congregations, public places and other important buildings to thwart any untoward incident.
Policemen would also patrol in various sectors and police officers of respective circles would ensure proper security at the eid congregations to be held at various locations of the town.
Walk through gates and scanners would also be installed at main eid congregations for the safety of the citizens.
Talking to APP Superintendent Police (SP) Rawal Town Malik MatloobAwan said that police will perform their duties round the clock.
Hundreds of Mosques, Imambargahs and several other religious gatherings would be covered by armed guards and policemen during eid prayers, he added.
He said that more than 3,000 police officials would be deployed to cover all important places, adding police will remain high alert during Eid days. Police in-charges of all circles would ensure proper security arrangements at the Eid congregations, he said.
Matloob Awan informed that special directives have been passed on to all the officers concerned for the effective security measures inRawal Town on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Volunteers will also be deployed on Eid congregations, he said adding special pickets have been set up at all the entry and exist points of the city to check.
The SP said that walk through gates would be installed at main Eidprayer congregations while police officials in plain clothes would also be deputed to keep an eye on the activities of suspicious persons.
He said that beggars would not be allowed to walk freely in the city and action in accordance with the law would also be taken against them.
Meanwhile, TMA has established eight check points in 46 Union Councils to check and stop the entry of sacrificial animals in city areas. (APP)
