RAWALPINDI: Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi while responding 152 emergency calls received during Eid holidays saved 153 victims as over 300 rescuers were on duty.
Special arrangements were made in this regard and rescuers remained alert from Nov 6 to Nov 9 with 14 ambulances, 12 fire trucks, two water boozers, two special rescue and recovery vehicles and two aerial turntable ladders at their rescue stations and key points outside the Eidgahs and city parks.
The service responded to emergency calls received at its toll free emergency number 1122. All emergency calls were of road accidents while rescuers responded efficiently to all accidents, provided medical treatment to the victims and evacuated them to the hospitals. The service maintained its average response time of five minutes.
Out of 153 victims, 35 were provided emergency medical treatment at the spot, whereas 118 victims of road accidents were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Holy Family Hospital and PIMS Hospital.
Punjab Emergency Service Rescue1122, Director General, Dr. Rizwan Naseer appreciated devotion and sincerity of the rescuers during special event of Eid-ul-Azha. He said all rescuers of the Service are contributing for building safer communities and providing sense of safety in their respective districts in the province.
