Fire guts more than dozen shops in Soldier Bazaar

KARACHI: More than a dozen shops were burned after a fire broke out at KMC Market, Soldier Bazaar area in the wee hours of Sunday, Fire Brigade said.

According to Centre 2 of Fire Brigade situated at Saddar, initial investigations suggested that the fire erupted due to short-circuit of electricity at one of the shops. The fire reduced to ashes valuables of the shops.

According to details obtained from the Fire Department, fire tenders of Fire Brigade Centre Number 2, 3,4,6,8, and 19 alongside police and Rangers with the help of more than dozen water tankers fought for three hours to douse the inferno.

No casualty was reported, said Aftab, a Fire Brigade official. (PPI)
