KARACHI: The viral 'Pawri Hori Hai' meme found itself at the Aurat March 2021 as well, when a protester smartly used the phrase to take a dig at Pakistan's patriarchal culture through her placard.

The young girl, who preferred to remain anonymous, had captioned it, "Patriarchy ki pawri khatam horai hai," which loosely translates to "The party of patriarchy is coming to an end."

Speaking to Geo.tv, she explained how it was an absolute joy to be surrounded by people who cared for rights and wished to make Pakistan a better place. "My day wasn’t going good but, [being] here, I’m so impressed and I just feel like I wanna be here forever, I feel great," she said.

When asked about the caption on her placard, she admitted that she was confused as to what her message should be. "There’s a trend going on that goes like ‘pawri hori hai', but if you look closer, the boys’ party just keep going on and on and on.

"It’s about time this party stopped so that the girls can start their party because that hasn’t been happening for a while," she added.

The young girl stated that the primary reason — main demand — why she chose to participate in the Aurat March 2021 was that she wanted freedom.

"Honestly, I just the freedom to walk out of your house without feeling scared, without ‘kia hoga [what would happen]?’, and without having eyes on your body.
