RAWALPINDI: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar said that all set for peaceful passage of Muharram-ur-Haram and all arrangements to facilitate mourners during Muharam-ul-Haram had been made by the City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR).
Central Control Room will be functional on Nov 26 in Additional District Collector (ADC) Office. Similarly, one Control Room would be established in each Tehsil Headquarter, one officer of City District Government's allied departments would be a focal person and present in Control Room. The leaves of officers and staff had been cancelled immediately and the offices would remain open during Ashoora Holidays.
He said this while presiding over a meeting in his office to review Muharram arrangements. CPO Azhar Hameed Khokhar, ADC Talat Mehmood Gondal, FCO Aqeel Ahmed Khan, EDO Municipal Services Imtiaz Ahmed Malik, EDO Health Dr.Zafar Iqbal Gondal, D.O. Solid Waste Dr.Mazhar Azeem, DO Civil Defense Tayyaman Raza, All ACs and TMOs of the District attended the meeting.
The DCO said that no permission would be granted to bring out any new mourning procession. All mourning procession would strictly observe their traditional routes and zero tolerance would be shown to divert any mourning procession routes. He appealed ulma-e-karam, Zakrians and the organizers of Majlis to cooperate with the administration in this regard so that no unpleasant incident could take place. (APP)
