Foolproof security ordered for Muharram

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has ordered to complete foolproof security arrangements for Muharram ul Haram and Juma prayers.

He asked divisional SPs to personally review duty of all police personnel, deputed at mosques and Imam Bargahs, along with ensuring continuous patrolling in their respective areas.

The CCPO said there should be special checking and preventive measures taken for transport entering at 3:00 am to 6:00 am.

He directed the security branch to increase usage of metal detectors on the occasion of Juma congregations in the city and ensuring maintenance of peace at mosques with close co-operation of organizers.

In his order, he also directed Lahore Police that the parking of all vehicles and motorcycles should be well away from important buildings, mosques and imam bargahs.
