ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Thursday said that Chief of the Army Staff and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence have forced the government to take action on “memo issue”, Geo News reported.
Talking on the floor of National Assembly, he said why would Husain Haqqani do what he was being accused of on his own, he was just following the orders of this bosses, so they were also a part of this whole ordeal.
He demanded of the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to come up with a time schedule for an inquiry into the issue that has brought shame to country.
To a point of order, he said that the memo issue comes under discussion everywhere but Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Nisar lashed out at the president and prime minister calling them minions of Army and US who defy the Parliament.
He said the democratic government’s top two executives owe no answer to chief of the army staff and DG ISI instead they were actually bound to satisfy the parliament.
Nisar was of the view that that Haqqani’s resignation had brought to fore the true gravity of the matter, adding his quitting betrayed his guilt for had he been clean he would never have stepped down.
