HYDERABAD: Sindh Minister for Rural Development Zubair Ahmed Khan presided over a meting with representatives of mourners' organizations here on Sunday to review the security and other arrangements for Muharram.
MNA Tayyab Hussain, MPA Suhail Yousuf and Wasim Hussain, Assistant Commissioners, Municipal Commissioner, Managing Director WASA and officers of police, Health Department and Rangers were also present.
The police officials briefed the meeting that more than 3,500 police personnel and 500 commando police, in addition to Rangers, would provide security during Muharram. Lady Police constables would also be deployed at special places, they added.
They said a control room had been established at City police station which would function round the clock while all kind of activities would be monitored through close circuit cameras (CCTV).
The minister and other MQM legislators directed the departments concerned to extend all possible facilities to the mourners and to put in place foolproof security measures. (APP)
