RAWALPINDI: While ministry of interior declared Rawalpindi as sensitive area, army troops and rangers have been deployed in Rawalpindi division to ensure peace, law and order during the month of Muharram ul Haraam.
Rangers along with police would carry out patrolling in areas where Muharram procession would pass and army would remain alert in case of any emergency.
An official of the city district government talking to APP, said that 10companies of rangers in Rawalpindi district, 6 companies in Attock, 4companies in Chakwal and 3 companies in Jhelum would provide protection to the Muharram processions.
Meanwhile, the district government has completed all the arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. Special control rooms have been set up to provide assistance to the mourners. (APP)
