Faisalabad gas closure period increases to 4 days
FAISALABAD: The gas closure for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations and industrial sector has now been increased from 3 to 4 days, Geo News reported.

According to the previous schedule, all CNG stations and industrial sectors of Faisalabad were facing gas suspension under load management schedule from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on December 11 Sunday.

As per new schedule, the supply would resume on December 12 Monday.

Pakistan Textile Exports Association Chairman Rana Arif Tauseef has strongly protested the decision.

Initially the gas closure was for 2 days in a week but when the shortage became more severe, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) extended the gas closure for CNG stations for up to 3 days in a week.

On the other hand, the industrial sector of Faisalabad is adversely affected by the gas loadshedding as the production has come to a halt, bringing misery to the daily wagers.

The industrialists termed the closure a disaster for industrial sector and will stage a protest against gas loadshedding.
