RAWALPINDI: In light of the upcoming legislative assembly elections in Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday the 8th of June, Army troops will be deployed to maintain peace and security.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) branch of the Pakistan Army, troop deployment had been requested by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the civil administration.
A total of 497 contestants will participate in the elections on 8th June for the 24 general seats of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly.
