Fifteen cops dismissed; 11 punished
RAWALPINDI: As many as 15 cops were dismissed from service while 11 others were awarded various departmental punishments by City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokhar on Saturday on various charges.

According to details, the CPO took action against the cops here during a meeting held at Police Line No-1, which was chaired by him.

Those who were dismissed from service are Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdul Rehman, Constables Muhammad Younas, Mudaser Nazir, Muhammad Niaz, Atif Niaz, Subtul Hassan, Muhammad Arif, Khizer Hayat, Muhammad Ali, Shah Zaib Abbas, Zafar Iqbal, Asim Mahmood, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Jabbar and Clerk Junaid Mustafa.

Likewise, Sub-Inspector (SI) Mukhtar Ahmed`s three-year increments were stopped, two-year increments of SI Muhammad Aslam were stopped. SI Muhammad Saeed's one-year increment, SI Mohsin Abbas's one-year increment, SI Tariq Ilyas's one-year increment and one-year increment of SI Arshad Mahmood, one-year increment of ASI Mushtaq Ahmed, one-year increment of ASI Asad Ali and one-year increment of constable Afraz Shahid were stopped.

One-year service of Constable Abdul Majeed was forfeited and he was issued warning while Constable Muhammad Arif was also given the sentence.

Spokesman for the CPO said the police officials, who were awarded different punishments, were found guilty of various charges including irresponsible attitude, negligence and absence from duty. (APP)
