ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorway police has foiled a car theft attempt and arrested the culprit here on Saturday.
According to details, Motorway police officials were on routine patrolling and signaled a suspicious vehicle Honda make bearing registration number LXD2171 to stop.
After being quizzed by MW police officials, the nervous driver could not produce proof of registration and necessary paperwork. The driver revealed that the car was stolen from Gulberg area of Lahore. The stolen vehicle was being driven away to Peshawar.
According to MW officials, the vehicle was stopped near Chakri and one Bilal hailing from Swabi arrested for car lifting.
DIG Motorway Jehanzaib Khan Jogezai appreciated effort of MW officials. He said that the motorway police is trying its best to counter antisocial elements in an effort to deter crimes on the motor way.
