Ban on demonstrations, rallies on Murree Road demanded

RAWALPINDI: The citizens have called for imposition of strict ban on rallies and demonstrations on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Road (Murree Road).

The citizens said that the rallies and demonstrations particularly on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Road badly affect traffic flow and create traffic mess, suspending movement of all types of vehicles including ambulances, fire fighting vehicles and other emergency service providers.

The rallies and demonstrations are making the situation more difficult and hazardous.

"We have to wait for hours when any procession marches on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Road and the speakers address the participants at various points on the road. The ambulances and Rescue 1122 vehicles are also not given way out by the protestors which is main cause of concern for the citizens", said a motorist.

Any type of protest demonstration on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Road must be banned strictly which will be a great relief for the citizens, they added. (APP)
