Abbottabad commission meeting today
ISLAMABAD: The Inquiry Commission on Abbottabad Operation is meeting on Monday in Islamabad, Geo News reported. The commission, headed by Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, would review the details of the investigation carried out so far in the May 2, 2011 incident that killed Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden (OBL) by the US forces.

The commission has collected vital information from the raided compound and has held meetings and interactive sessions with retired civil and military officials, politicians and serving civilian, security as well as military officials to reach a conclusion. The commission has also recorded statements of police, witnesses and other relevant persons.

Former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and ex-foreign secretaries/ambassadors including Inam-ul-Haq, Riaz Khokhar, Riaz M Khan and Dr Maleeha Lodhi also appeared before the commission to record their statements.

A former Bureaucrat Roedad Khan and a defence analyst Lt Gen (R) Talat Masood also gave their perspective of the Abbottabad incident.
