ISLAMBAD: Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentarian and now Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf central leader, senior parliamentarian Javed Hashmi has resigned from the National Assembly, Geo News reported.
Moreover, his daughter Maimoona Hashmi, following her father's suit has also stepped down as Member National Assembly.
Before tending his resignation, the firebrand statesman, addressing the House, said that it was time we changed our ways. The rulers have so many promises to keep and so many miles to go on the road of ‘nation-building’, but unfortunately they were yet indulged in authoritarianism, Hashmi added.
He thanked his erstwhile political-party-fellows for electing him party’s vice president in the past.
