Six buildings of Lyari, Saddar towns declared dangerous
KARACHI: The Technical Committee of Sindh Building Control Authority after inspecting a number of dilapidated buildings of Lyari and Saddar towns of Karachi declared six buildings as dangerous and not worth living while eight other buildings were declared worth living after repairs.

The Technical Committee consisting of expert engineers submitted its report to the Director General of SBCA according to which Shahid Manzil plot No:2341 Block-A, Street 3, Gul Faiz Manzil plot No:2756 Block-B, Street 18 Nauabad, a building at plot No: 725 and 726 in Memon Society, Liaquat Colony and Iqbal Manzil at plot No:LY-10, 64 in Moosa Lane Lyari and Ggulam Hassan Quarters at plot No: GK-3, 48 in Saddar are dangerous and the residents of these buildings have been issued notices to vacate the buildings immediately as they might collapse any time due to their dilapidated condition and cause loss of human life.

Moreover, the committee identified eight other buildings - all in Lyari town that could be used for living only after heavy repairs. These buildings include Seema Manzil plot 2509 Block A, street 7, Nauabad, Yasmeen Manzil plot LY-8, 2114, Naz Manzil plot 2086 (K-2-10S/15) Block A, street 7, Ali Muhammad Mansion plot 1961 (AK-3-1S-16), Memon Masque Street building plot 2646 street 8 Nauabad, Qasr-e-Umer plot LY-10-30 street 3, GM Arcade plot LY-1-32 street 10 Moosa Lane and plot No:700 Memon Society.
