ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have busted two various gangs involved in selling fake gold and looting money from people after portraying themselves as policemen, a police spokesman said on Friday.
According to details, Station House Officer of Bhara Kau police station Inspector Mehboob Hussain and ASI Rafi Ullah busted a gang of women who used to sell fake gold to simpletons after its preparation from the goldsmith. Following the compliant of Zahid Mehmud, these police officers started the search of these cheaters and initially succeeded to arrest two women Shazia Noreen and Sumera Sadiq.
During the preliminary investigation, they have confessed to sell fake gold to several persons and minting money from them. Police have also recovered fake gold from them and efforts are underway to arrest their other accomplices.
Meanwhile, Assistant Sub-Inspector Qasim Zia from Industrial area police station arrested two persons Hasnain Haider and Jameel who were involved in minting money from the people after portraying themselves as policemen.
These fake cops used to stop the people, introduced themselves as policemen and take away money from them during their physical search or other way. On the other day, they minted money from a person Sarfaraz Khan in I-8 Markaz and also confessed to commit several such crime acts in Islamabad. Police also recovered a vehicle (GAW-6098) from them which they used to escape after committing crime act.
Sub-Inspector Muhammad Afzal from Golra police station nabbed Shoaib and Afzal for their alleged involvement in theft incidents and recovered stolen items from their possession. Koral police arrested Arsalan for possessing 30 bore pistol while Secretariat police nabbed Tanvir for having 120 gram hashish.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik have appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to ensure effective policing in order to provide maximum relief to citizens.
