Gas closure: Misery continues for Faisalabad industries for 34th day

FAISALABAD: The industrial units in Faisalabad remained shut for more than a month as a result of suspension of gas supply, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Sui Northern Gas Company had issued a new schedule for the load management according to which gas supply can be continued for two days only. Industrialists subsequently rejected the schedule causing unemployment for daily wages workers for the 34th consecutive day.

The gas supply to industries was suspended on December 22 for an indefinite period that could not be restored till recently.

Halting of production process has badly affected the daily wages workers as they are jobless due to closure of industries.

According to industrialists, thousands of employees are suffering due to closure of industries. They have asked the government to take appropriate measures to resume gas supply to the industries.
