ABBOTTABAD: Eleven dead bodies of miners were recovered from the phosphate mine that collapsed on the outskirts of Abbottabad on Wednesday afternoon, Geo News reported.
According to sources, the miners were trapped under the rubble when a phosphate mine collapsed due to landsliding.
Assistant Director of Mineral Department Mohammad Riaz said a check post along with police is being established to curb illegal phosphate mining in the area.
Commissioner Hazara Division has appointed Additional Commissioner Ghafoor Baig as inquiry officer of the incident.
