Musharraf will be arrested upon return: PM Gilani

DAVOS: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in an interview to a US news channel said former President Pervez Musharraf would be arrested upon his return to Pakistan.

Gilani said there were murder and other grave charges against Musharraf adding that even the Supreme Court had issued a verdict against him.

On a separate note the prime minister said he was willing to go to jail if the court ordered.

The prime minister further said that the fight against terrorism had caused a loss to the economy of Pakistan however there were still investment opportunities in the country.

Gilani who is in Davos attending the world economic forum said Pakistan was fighting for its own survival and militants had killed 30,000 people and 5,000 soldiers.

The prime minister added said that people in Pakistan were bitter over the NATO attack in which 24 soldiers were killed.
