Biden says advised Obama against Abbottabad raid

WASHINGTON: US Vice President Joe Biden has said that he had advised President Barack Obama against the Abbottabad operation to kill Osama Bin Laden, Geo News reported.

"My suggestion was, don't go, when Obama sought my say on whether to greensignal a raid on the compound Osama Bin Laden was supposed to be living in”, said Biden.

He said all he wanted was to first make sure whether Bin Laden was there before setting the US Navy SEALS on his house located at a stone’s through from Pakistan’s top military academy.

Biden cited this while talking to Democratic members of Congress on Friday at a retreat in Cambridge, Maryland.
