ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed his concerns on Wednesday over PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s fiery speech the night before.
Speaking to journalists outside the parliament house in Islamabad, Qureshi asked why the need arose for such a harsh stance from the PPP leader who is usually calm and collected. He stressed his support for Democracy as the best form of government.
He asked the former president, why he didn’t expose those who trampled on democracy during his five-year rule. Why he gave a lavish farewell, when he came to power.
Qureshi told journalists that certain corrupt politicians have ruined the country.
He emphasised that times have changed and if someone thinks another era like Zia’s might return – they are mistaken. He added, that there is no clash between institutions, that there is no attack underway on democracy and it was wrong to create such an impression.
