Work to establish community centers soon

ISLAMABAD: Work to establish community centres at the union council level for the rural areas of Islamabad would start soon said Secretary, Capital Administration and Development Division Imtiaz Inayat Elahi on Friday.

He said this while inaugurating the Free General Medical Camp organized by Pilot Comprehensive Community Centre, Sohan working under Directorate General of Special Education and Social Welfare.

Private enterprises and the Civil Society Organizations have to come up with a comprehensive strategy for the provision of social services to the poor and needy segments of the society jointly in collaboration with public sector.

He appreciated the efforts of Directorate General of Special Education and Social Welfare for organizing such activities for the poor and needy patients.

On this occasion, the Director General, Special Education, Social Welfare, Syed Mustafa in Kazmi assured the participants of the camp that these kinds of initiatives will be carried out regularly for the destitute rural population of Islamabad.

He stressed for strong coordination among Public Sector, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations and private organizations for realizations of social responsibilities for the down trodden segments of the society.

In the camp, free examination and medicine were provided to the people suffering from seasonal diseases, particularly to the Hepatitis (B&C) patients and elderly people of the area in consultation with medical experts.

The facility of screening of Hepatitis (B&C), Sugar Test, Blood Grouping, and Dental check up were also provided along with Polio vaccine for the children.
