Balochistan Assembly seeks PM Gilani's visit to Quetta
QUETTA: The lawmakers of the Balochistan Assembly on Monday passed a resolution unanimously demanding of the Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to visit Quetta to look into law and order situation including killing of wife, daughter and driver of MPA Mir Bakhtiar Khan Domki.

The assembly session started with member panel of chairmen Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel in chair half hour late behind its schedule. Balochistan Ministers Maulana Abdul Wasey, Sardar Muhammad Aslam Bezinjo, Mir Asadullah Baloch, Syed Ahsan Shah, Tahir Mehmood, Muhammad Ismail Gujjar, Muhammad Khan Toor, Nasreen Khaitran, and MPA Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhel moved the resolution which demanded of the Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to visit Quetta as early as possible to look into matter of killing of wife, daughter and driver of Mir Bakhtiar Domki besides bringing the perpetrators of this murder to justice.

The resolution, carried unanimously strongly condemned the killing of women of Mir Domki's family and their driver. It recommended the provincial government to convey feelings and sentiments of people of Balochistan over the murder women of Mir Domki's family to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and the federal government.

Delivering his speech, Minister for Irrigation Sardar Bezinjo lamented that the Sindh government yet to arrest the killers of the women of Mir Domki's family. He, however, paid tributes to Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for taking suo moto notice of the incident besides making Inspector General Police Sindh bound to arrest the killers within four days. He emphasized the need that PM Gilani himself should visit Quetta so that legislators could apprise him about their feelings over the incident.

Minister for Quality Education and the Pakistan Peoples Party leader Jan Ali Changezi underlined the need to call in all parties conference to review law and order situation and compile suggestions on it so that these suggestions could be presented before the PM Gilani. Minister without portfolio and Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Nasreen Khaitran regretted that women were being killed brutally in target killing. Minister Rubina Irfan recalled that attacking women never remained part of history of Pashtoon, Baloch and Hazara communities. Minister Jay Parkash strongly flayed this murder.

Minister for Revenue and Awami National Party leader Eng. Zamarak Piralizai viewed that law enforcement agencies were responsible for providing security and protection to citizens. Minister for Prosecution and PML-Q leader Rahila Durrani said that no religion of the world allow killing of women. Minster for Works and PPP leader Haji Ali Madad Jatak demanded to investigate the incident. Minister for Agriculture and Balochistan National Party-Awami leader Mir Asad Baloch appreciated CJP for taking suo moto notice into killing of women of Mir Domki's family. He said that they would consider that the federal government did not give importance to Balochistan if PM Gilani did not visit Quetta after passage of this resolution.

Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Ruqayya Saeed Hashmi regretted that people of different communities were being killed in target killing. Minster for Health and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader Aainullah Shams stressed the need to call in all parties conference to review law and order situation of Balochistan.

Minister for Local Government and JUI-N leader Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost and Minister for Zakaat Mir Saleem Khoso also condemned the murder of women of Mir Domki's family.

Later, the house was adjourned till February 09.
