Protestors demand arrest of killers

RAWALPINDI: The family and relatives of murdered persons on Monday held a demonstration on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Road here to protest the alleged police lethargy in arresting the killers.

According to the protestors, Muhammad Ashraf, Mustafa and Habib Khan had been murdered one month ago. The case is registered in Civil Line Police Station, but the police have failed to arrest the accused.

The protestors demanded of the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chief Minister Punjab to take notice of the matter and direct the officials concerned to take the accused to justice.

They blocked the road for one hour and raised slogans against the police.

Rubi Ashraf, a daughter of one of the murdered, told newsmen that they visited the police station daily but the police were not taking action against the accused. She alleged," the murderers are threatening us and asking us to withdraw the case".
