District Administration arrests eight butchers

PESHAWAR: District administration on Thursday arrested eight butchers for overcharging and non-display of government approved price lists during a crackdown against profiteers in suburban areas of the city.

After receiving the complaints regarding overcharging, ACO Syed Zafar Ali Shah visited various markets in areas of Phandu and Zandai. During the snap checking, district administration arrested eight butchers for making illegal profit besides having unhygienic business environment.

The case has been registered against butchers under sections 3/6 and 469/473.

DCO Siraj Ahmed Khan has directed the district administration to continue crackdown till the area be cleansed from the presence of profiteers and hoarders.
