MULTAN: Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) will construct 11 new grid stations across the south Punjab including multan by 2013.
According to Mepco sources, MEPCO will upgrade 8 grid stations, power transformers up gradation and 46 projects including 28 projects of 372 kilometre transmission lines. These projects would be completed with total cost of Rs 10.2 billion.
Three new grid stations including Qasim Bagh, Maan Kot and Bangla grid stations would be completed from Prime Minister's funds Rs 99,50,00,000 during 2012,13. Six grid stations would be constructed at Jail road, Makhdoom pur, Bahawal pur cantt, Bhong, DG Khan 111, and Sahiwal 111 grid stations while 23 transmission line up gradation with total cost of Rs 4.08 billions with financial aid of world bank.
As many as 30 projects of up gradation of grid stations and transmission lines would be completed with total cost of Rs 3,28,50,00,000 with financial aid of Asian Development bank.
