'Punjab govt sitting on Multan funds'

MULTAN: PM`s Beautification & Development Committee Multan member Dr Javed Siddiqui on Sunday alleged that the Punjab government was deliberately ignoring development in south Punjab.

Speaking at a press conference here at the Multan press club, he said the Punjab government had not provided funds to the Multan Development Authority for uplift schemes.

He said Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani had provided funds to install 16 tubewell in the city for water purification plants.

He informed that the NESPAK had design sewerage schemes in middle zone in the city in line with the special directive of the Prime Minister.

On this occasion, candidate for NA-149 Malik Liaquat Dogar, Khawaja Ishfaq Siddiqui, Chudhary Khalid Hussain and others were also present. (APP)
