Rajshahi beat Sylhet to record first BPL win
DHAKA: Duronto Rajshahi defeated Sylhet Royals by 16 runs to record their first victory in their three Twenty20 matches in the Bangladesh Premier League here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.

Winning the toss, Rajshahi made 171 for eight in the allotted 20 overs in the ninth match of the tournament.

Marlon Samuels smashed 72 off 48 balls with five sixes and three fours and was later adjudged the man-of-the-match.

He was well supported by captain Mushfiqur Rahim (33 with three fours and a six) and allrounder Abdul Razzaq (30 with two sixes and a four).

For Sylhet Royals, paceman Alok Kapali captured three wickets for 27 while Sohail Tanvir and Peter Trego took two wickets each.

In reply, Sylhet Royals could score 155 for four in 20 overs.

Kamran Akmal top scored with 56 from 41 balls. He hit four sixes and three fours while Trego and Imrul Kayes also hit two sixes each in 37 and 22, respectively.
