KARACHI: Police tear-gassed and arrested Lady Health Workers (LHWs) near Karachi Press Club (KPC) who were trying to stage a sit-in demanding of the government to release their long stuck salaries, Geo News reported.
According to details LHWs were trying to push their protest to as far as Fawara Chowk, but riot police would not let them resorting to baton-charge and teargas shelling.
Police in the line of duty sent many poor LHWs reeling, who were later rushed to hospital.
Barbed wires were laid on their way to Governor House.
LHWs had knocked every door for the payment of their subsistence before finally jumping to the protestation demanding permanence of their jobs and salaries unpaid for five months.
