DHAKA: Chittagong Kings defeated Sylhet Royals by seven wickets in the eleventh Twenty20 match of the Bangladesh Premier League here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Chasing 153, Chittagong reached the winning target in 17.3 overs to go on top of the points table where as Sylhet remained at the bottom.
An impressive unbeaten fourth wicket partnership of 109 runs between Ziaur Rehman and Mahmudullah guided Chittagong to obtain its third victory in four matches.
Mahmudullah remained not out on 56, made from 38 balls with four boundaries and two sixes whereas Ziaur Rehman was unbeaten on 48 scored off 32 balls with four sixes and two fours.
Earlier, Sylhet was restricted to152 for four in the allotted 20 overs after it won the toss and elected to bat first.
Kamran Akmal and Peter Trego hit half-centuries and both added 83 runs for the second wicket stand after Sylhet made a disastrous start losing an early wicket for only two runs.
Akmal struck nine fours and a six while Trego hit three fours.
Alok Kapali also contributed a useful unbeaten 34 with two fours and a six.
