MULTAN: The Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) has disconnected power supply of ten railway stations along with several water supply pumps for non-payment of dues on Wednesday.
Different railways colonies, including DS House situated at Old Bahawalpur Road and officers houses, are without electricty.The power cut-off has also caused water supply problem to residential areas.
Two railway stations - Daera Din Panah and Arifwala have also faced suspension of the service, besides Multan region.
In this regard, Divisional Electrical Engineer (Power) Railways Multan, Faisal Qureshi contacted with concerned Mepco officials and assured to clear dues within a few days. However, the electricity was not restored till filing of the news report.
Moreover, residents of Railways colonies staged a protest against water disruption. (APP)
