RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police have arrested 16 gamblers and recovered cash Rs 64,680 with seven mobile phones.
According to police spokesman, New Town Police raided a gambling den and arrested six gamblers identified as Muhammad Akram, Altaf Hussain, Muhammad Mazahar, Muhammad Aslam, Faisal and Kashif Majeed red-handed and recovered cash Rs 6180 with seven mobile phones.
Meanwhile, Wastrage police arrested 10 gamblers identified as Naveed Khan, Malik Qasim, Naseeb-ur-Rehman, Siraj, Rizwan Aslam, Rizwan Anwar, Muhammad Younas, Asim Afzal, Malik Nasir and Raja Waseem and recovered cash Rs 58,500 and 52 cards which were being used for gambling.
Separate cases have been registered against the accused while investigations are underway. (APP)
