HYDERABAD: The Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh Sono Khan Baloch on Saturday presided over a meeting here to review law and order arrangements for conducting bye-elections in PS-53 Tando Muhammad Khan-Hyderabad and PS-57 Badin on February 25.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, he said that all possible measures were being adopted to conduct the bye-elections in a transparent and peaceful atmosphere.
He asked the police officers of districts concerned to leave no stone unturned for making foolproof security during the polling process and also directed them to ensure police patrolling in the constituencies to avoid any untoward situation.
He also directed the police officers to deploy more policemen at highly sensitive and sensitive polling stations. The women police should also be deployed at female polling stations, he said.
The Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh said that he would contact the authorities for the imposition of section 144 Cr. P.C. and declaration of holiday in the constituencies.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo, DIG Police Sanaullah Abbasi, Deputy Commissioners Badin, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, SSPs Badin, Hyderabad, Tando Mohammad Khan, District Health Officers and Returning Officers. (APP)
