Pakistan cricket team’s opening batter and captain Babar Azam is considered to be one of the top batters currently in the world, but for Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, getting Babar’s wicket is not a big deal.

Rashid has taken Babar’s wicket every time the two have faced each other in T20 Cricket, representing any team — 5 encounters, 5 incidents of Babar being dismissed by Rashid.

Babar also became Rashid’s victim in one of two ODIs played between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

On Friday, Babar was stumped by Phil Salt on Rashid’s delivery during Karachi Kings vs Lahore Qalandars PSL match in Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium.

It was the same Salt+Rashid combination that got Babar Azam when the Pakistani batter had faced the Afghanistan spinner for the first time in a T20 professional match — Sussex vs Somerset in Vitality Blast T20.

Babar, who was representing Sussex, was caught behind the wicket by Phil Salt off Rashid Khan’s delivery.

The 2nd such incident came when both faced each other during Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings game in Abu Dhabi during PSL 6. Babar was then caught by Hafeez off Rashid’s delivery.

The top batter and the top bowler came face to face once again in the T20 World Cup match in October last year – this time Babar was trapped by a googly from Rashid and got bowled.

The two also met in Karachi’s leg of PSL where, once again, Babar became Rashid’s victim.

They’ve faced each other in two ODIs as well and Babar was Rashid’s victim in one of them. It was the 2018 Asia Cup in UAE when Babar was caught by wicket-keeper Mohammad Shahzad off Rashid’s delivery.
