Head of Benazir murder probe briefs Sindh Assembly
KARACHI: The head of the investigation team tasked with the probing the assassination for former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Khalid Qureshi briefed the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday.

Qureshi informed members of the provincial assembly that the Taliban and Pervez Musharraf considered Benazir Bhutto a threat.

He added that the former prime minister faced many threats upon her return to Pakistan.

Qureshi referred to the Lal Masjid operation as the likely reason for the increase in terrorism and said that Benzair Bhutto was a strong advocate against terrorism and supported the operation.

On the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, Qureshi said that the attacker fired bullets and blew himself up near the vehicle of the former prime minister and that his face had been reconstructed.

He also made a reference to the Scotland Yard investigation and said that according to their experts, Benazir had died due to a blow to the back of her head and also showed x-rays to substantiate this claim.
