Couple dies of gas suffocation in Quetta

QUETTA: Another couple died of suffocation in Hazara Town area of the provincial capital on Friday increasing the toll of gas related deaths to 32 during winter in Balochistan.

According to official sources, a couple identified as Ahmed Ali and his wife Haneefa Bibi forgot to switch off their gas heater before going to sleep at night between Thursday and Friday.

As the oxygen of the room was consumed, they were suffocated to death. The dead bodies of the victims were shifted the Boland Medical Hospital and after autopsy handed over to their relatives.

It may be mentioned here that some 32 people died of gas related cases reported from Ziarat, Mastung, Quetta and other parts of the province during the prevailing winter.

Further investigation was underway. (APP)
