Miscreant hurt while planting landmine

PESHAWAR: A miscreant was injured on Friday when the landmine, he was planting, exploded on Ring Road in the jurisdiction of Chamkani Police Station, a suburban locality of the Provincial Capital.

SSP Operations Tahir Ayub told mediamen that two miscreants were planting a landmine in Gulshan Colony on Ring Road near Chamkani area when it exploded and injured one of the miscreants.

The police reached the area immediately and arrested the injured miscreant. The area was cordoned off, however, the other miscreant managed to escape from the scene. Some nearby vehicles were also damaged due to the blast.

This was the second attack by militants in one day as in a pre-dawn attack on Police Station Kotwali in the provincial metropolis four policemen were killed and six others injured.
