  • Maryam Nawaz claims PM Imran "cursed and threatened Opposition and other countries."
  • Adds PM "does not have a right to put Pakistan at disadvantage."
  • “Shut him in a room, or else if a monkey gets hold of a matchstick, there is a threat of fire!” she wrote.

ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif on Monday once again lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan, and said that his speech a day ago — directed at the envoys of the European Union as well as the Opposition — shows that he is "shaken by the current uproar in the country."

As reported by Geo News,  Shahbaz said that the no-confidence motion to oust the PTI-led government has been demanded by the people of Pakistan.

The Opposition leader also reiterated that no matter how much "foul language" PM Imran uses, it will not stop the no-confidence motion.

"While PM Imran has spoiled his political reputation, he should not tarnish Pakistan's image before the world," the PML-N president said.

Maryam Nawaz mocks PM's speech

On the other hand, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz also reacted to the premier's speech and said that "Imran Khan has not only cursed and threatened the Opposition, but he has done the same to other countries as well."

Taking to Twitter, Maryam added that the premier "does not have a right to put Pakistan at a disadvantaged position due to his political disagreements."

“Shut him in a room, or else if a monkey gets hold of a matchstick, there would be a threat of fire!” she ironically wrote, suggesting that the no-confidence motion is vital in order to get PM Imran off his seat.

PM's address to a rally in Vehari

A day prior, PM Imran Khan had slammed envoys of 22 EU countries for urging Pakistan to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine while addressing a rally in Tehsil Mailsi of the Vehari District.

“I ask EU ambassadors, did you thank us? Did you say we helped you in your war? Did you appreciate us?" PM Imran questioned the EU envoys.

Launching an attack on former president Asif Ali Zardari and ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, PM Imran said that they did not stop the drone attacks as their wealth was stashed in Western countries.

Starting with his arch-rival Nawaz Sharif, the premier reminded the public how the former prime minister acted like a "Bollywood star" in a bid to leave the country.

“If PML-N is listening to me, then think: can a jackal ever become a leader?” asked PM Imran. The premier claimed that the PML-N was moving the no-confidence motion as Nawaz was missing Pakistan.

Targeting the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif, PM Imran said that if someone wants to learn about him, they should find “Maqsood chaprasi”.

Continuing to attack the PML-N, the premier said that Nawaz and his daughter Maryam abuse the army while Shahbaz “starts polishing any boots he finds”.
