Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, had an audience with Queen Elizabeth II this week.
The PM, who landed in UK amid the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, marked a special visit to Her Majesty soon after her COVID-19 recovery.
In photos released on the official Twitter and Instagram pages of the royal family, Mr Trudeau was spotted greeting the Queen as he leaned forward to gently hold her hand. The politician, however, forgot to wear his mask- a blunder greatly mocked by Britons, including Piers Morgan.
Morgan tweeted: "Why on earth would @JustinTrudeau wear a mask to meet @Keir_Starmer but not the Queen? Preposterous."
The former GMB host was joined by others, who thrashed also mocked the PM. Former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney wrote: "Why is Trudeau wearing a mask for his meeting with Keir Starmer, when he didn’t for his meeting with the Queen, 95?"
Columnist Nick Timothy added: "Does Trudeau not care about the Queen? Or are the masks for show?"
The Canadian Prime Minister travelled to the UK to discuss Russian invasion Mr Johnson and Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte.
