KARACHI: Pakistan and Australia's cricket teams reached Karachi to play their second Test match scheduled for March 12, but could only reach their hotels after two long hours of waiting.

The teams embarked on a special flight from Islamabad to Karachi at 3:15 in the afternoon but had to wait for two hours in the old terminal because of PM Imran Khan's presence in the city, VIP moment, and security clearance.

The press conference scheduled for the Pakistan team's batting coach was also postponed due to the delay.

After a long wait, the players reached their hotel at around 5:15pm.

Their coronavirus tests will take place over there. Once the results are out, the players will continue their practice as scheduled.

No team emerged as the winner in the first Test match in the series.

The second Test match between Pakistan and Australia will begin on Saturday in National Stadium, Karachi.

The two teams have played eight matches in the National Stadium up till now. Pakistan holds the upper hand as they have won five out of eight matches, while three matches turned out to be a draw between the two teams.
