BPL: Rajshahi outclass Khulna by 8 wkts

DHAKA: Duronto Rajshahi easily defeated Khulna Royal Bengals by eight wickets in a Twenty20 match of the Bangladesh Premier League here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing an easy target of 107, Rajshahi completed the victory for the loss of two wickets in 14.1 overs with the help of a fine half-century by opener Marlon Samuels.

Samuels made an unbeaten 50 from 38 balls with seven fours and two sixes. He was ably supported by Junaid Siddique (29 not out) and Shahzaib Hasan (28).

Earlier, Khulna won the toss and elected to bat but the whole team was dismissed for 106 in 18.5 overs.

Only Niall O’Brien provided some resistance against the Rajshahi bowlers and made 35 whereas only three other batsmen could reach the double figures.

For Rajshahi, Mohammad Sami and Sean Ervine grabbed three wickets each.
