Cricket fans in Karachi celebrated the return of the Australian team to the city by displaying their humour on various placards during the first day’s play in the 2nd Test at National Stadium.
Spectators also expressed gratitude to the Aussies for visiting Pakistan and shared their messages for the Australian cricketers.
“Hey Smith, can I have your signed shirt,” flashed a poster held by a fan sitting in Hanif Mohammad's enclosure.
Disappointed by the result in Rawalpindi Test, another fan in the same enclosure made a clear demand by displaying the slogan, “We Want Result”.
There were some offers from the fans to the Australian cricketers as well.
A female fan invited Steve Smith to have Biryani. “Hey Steve, come over for dinner, my mom cooks excellent Biryani,” read a placard carried by a female fan.
The fans also expressed their desire to see the Australian cricketers in Pakistan Super League (PSL).
An old-aged fan displayed the placard recalling how young he was when he came to National Stadium when Australia toured the city last in 1998.
Few cricket fans couldn’t keep the humour away from the placards.
A fan reminded Alex Carey of how careless he was at the pool in the hotel and hoped for him to be equally careless behind the wicket.
Fans also shared how difficult it is for them to understand the actual pronunciation of Labuschagne.
