Model 'divorces herself' so she could enjoy life, party as 'single' woman

• Woman had previously "married herself" after being "disappointed" with her relationships.

• Says she is open to the idea of marrying a man in future if she finds the right person.

In a rather bizarre incident, a Brazilian model, who had previously married herself, has now decided to break "the marriage" so that she could party and enjoy her life as a single woman.

According to an article by the Lad Bible, the model — identified as Cris Galera — had last year in August married herself after she couldn't find a suitable match for herself. She had said last year that she decided to take the step as she was "disappointed" with her relationships.

In November 2021, she had made headlines again when she said that she was about to divorce as she had "met someone special." However, it seems like the divorce did not materialise at the time.

Pet the piece, Galera, who is 34, now lives in London. At the time of her "wedding," she had said: "I reached a point where I matured, I realised that I am a strong and determined woman. I was always afraid of being alone, but I realised that I needed to learn to feel good about myself. When that happened, I decided to celebrate it."

However, after a few months of being married to herself, the model has now decided that she does not want to be married anymore and wants to live as a single woman so that she could party as a single woman during the upcoming Carnival in her home country of Brazil. 

The carnival is a wild celebration of food, alcohol, music and fun. It's held annually for a few days before the start of Lent, the 40-day period of fasting, abstinence and repentance that's observed by the Roman Catholic Church before Easter.

"I decided to marry myself in the first place as I was very disappointed and didn't want any kind of relationship with anyone anymore. That's when I said, 'I'm going to marry myself'," she had said. 

Galera had also said that she does not believe in traditional marriages as "they always end."

"Then when I found out I could marry myself it was wonderful. I didn't divorce myself because I got tired of myself. I like to have a very solid reason and that's why [the partying]."

The model further said that she does not regret marrying herself and has been quite happy with the decision. 

Despite divorcing herself, Galera says that she is open to the idea of marriage again given that she meets the right person.

"I am a woman openly embracing my power and my sexuality, for all to see. I've never been married to a man. I think that, first, you have to get married, and then have a child. I became such an independent woman, such a self-sufficient woman while I was married to myself," she told the publication.

When asked what qualities she would look for in a man, Galera said: "For a man to get my attention he has to be beautiful, powerful, charming, fragrant and rich. That's the kind of man I want to attract to be on my side."
