  • Unlike Find My iPhone, this trick does not require internet connection.
  • It allows users to locate their iPhone in case it gets lost or stolen.
  • Easy steps to follow.

Apple's iOS software allows users to track their iPhones even if they are powered off or on aeroplane mode, reported Pocket-lint

While the most popular way of tracking an iPhone is through Find My iPhone, in some cases when the phone is not connected to the internet, it is not of much help.

This trick enables an iPhone to be discoverable even if it has no connection, in case it gets stolen or a user loses it after it runs out of battery.

Once a user has implemented the steps of this trick, they should be able to see a grey message, "iPhone Findable after Power Off" below "Slide to Power Off" when the power button is pressed.

To enable this feature, follow these steps:

1. Control what someone is able to access when an iPhone is locked

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap on 'Face ID & Passcode' or 'Touch ID & Passcode'
  3. Enter your passcode
  4. Scroll down to the Allow Access When Locked section and toggle off Control Centre and USB Accessories

2. Turn on location services.

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Head to Privacy
  3. Tap on Location Services at the top
  4. Toggle Location Services on

3. Enable Find My Network and Find My iPhone

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap on your name at the top to open Apple ID settings
