  • One point deducts from boxer's scoresheet.

Fans and onlookers were left surprised when the referee did not penalise boxer Nicolas Pablo Demario after he bit his opponent Josue Vargas during a match, Lad Bible reported.

Demario and Vargas had a match on Saturday at Resorts World in Las Vegas.

While the match was going smoothly from the beginning, this surprising incident occurred in the fifth round. As Vargas held Demario, he went ahead and bit his opponent’s shoulder.

To the audience’s surprise, the boxer was not disqualified. Only one point was deducted from his score even though biting is not permitted at all. Previously, fighters have faced the consequences of such actions.

One fan said on Twitter: "Point deduction? Should be disqualified with a ban. Kash Ali got a 6-month ban for the same and a possible fine if a remember correctly."
