Crack down against illegal number plates, tinted glass vehicles

LAHORE: The City Traffic Police launched a massive crackdown against illegal number plates, tinted glasses and blue lights vehicles and motorcycles at the city roads.

Traffic police spokesman said here on Tuesday that following directions of Chief Traffic Office (CTO) Sarfraz Ahmed Falki, divisional SPs and circle in-charges would supervise the campaign in their areas and take measures to eradicate the trend of non prescribed number plates and vehicles without number plates on city roads.

Special squads have been constituted for the crackdown against illegal activities on Ring Road interchanges while emergency squads on The Mall, Jail road, Main Boulevard, Canal road, Shalimar Link road, Ferozepur road and Township took action against the law breakers.

The CTO said that the use of illegal green plates, tinted glasses, moving without plates and other type of non prescribed plates was illegal act and every citizen should avoid to break the law.

Falki directed wardens to continue the crackdown on violators of traffic laws and also keep on educating citizens.

The CTO stressed upon the citizen to cooperate with the traffic police to make the journey safer for themselves and others. (APP)
