A woman's quick thinking is being appreciated on social media after she called the police "to order a pizza" on the bus.

North Yorkshire Police shared the incident on their official Twitter account.

The woman contacted 999, the emergency services, pretending to order a pizza to rid herself of the situation she was in.

To make sure it was not a prank, the police asked her if she was in trouble to which she responded affirmatively.

The police tracked her via an online tracker and a 40-year-old man from Leeds was taken into custody.
