Real Madrid star striker Karim Benzema's surprised everyone with his incredible hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final 1st leg clash against Chelsea.
Former Man United legend Rio Ferdinand, therefore, thinks that Benzema's name should be written on Ballon d'Or for 2022.
Benzema, who struck in 21, 24, and 46 minutes, simply left the Chelsea defenders clueless as they failed to stop him from giving the dodge and playing a hard-pressing game as he put up a brilliant individual show.
While Ferdinand, on BT Sport, elaborated on the greatness and the quality which the French striker possesses.
"They should already be writing Karim Benzema's name on the next Ballon d'Or. This is the business end and he keeps scoring," Ferdinand said while praising Benzema.
"He's taken Real Madrid top of the league [in LaLiga]. They are flying and he is the talisman. When Cristiano Ronaldo was there, he had the humility to sit in the background because he knew what the team needed, but now he's come out of the shadows," he stressed.
